Hey everyone,
I'm sorry I never got around to posting about the trip to China. It was completely wonderful. I'll try to do one more post after this to discuss the Travel seminar and the trip itself. For now, I'll just say that everyone should do it if they can. It was an experience I will never forget. It also makes me wish I could travel more. Hopefully someday I can!
The real reason for the post is because I won't be posting on here anymore after I do the China write-up. A lot happened over the summer that made me re-evaluate what I want to do for my career and what I want out of life. I have decided to withdraw from Suffolk and instead pursue my nursing degree. I have thought about nursing a lot in the past but put it to the back of my mind because I tended to avoid science classes throughout my undergraduate career. Now I find myself wanting to take them.
Needless to say there are a lot of big changes going on right now. I have applied to several Boston area programs that are for people who already have a BA in another field. The programs I am applying to are to obtain a MS in nursing. I will have my RN after 1-2 years (depending on which program I get into) and then the last year is to obtain my Masters so I can sit for the test to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. To get into these programs I have several science courses to take first. I'm taking three right now! And still working full time. Cross your fingers I make it through this year! :)
I pinky swear to get a China post up soon and hopefully a link to some pictures. I hope you are all enjoying your time at Suffolk or will enjoy it if you are applying to the school right now. Suffolk is a wonderful school with great students and professors. I enjoyed my year at Sawyer School of Business but at this point I want to be a nurse more than I want to continue working in the business field. Sometimes you start out on one path and find that it leads to something that feels more right. At this moment, becoming a nurse practitioner feels right for me. Thanks for reading my blog and watch out for the China post that will come sometime this week or the beginning of next week. You've been waiting for it since May so what's another week, right? :)
